I drew this while sitting in the car, for hours. It can be pretty difficult to draw in a vehicle when sitting by a younger brother… They fling their arms and occasionally hit your page. That is when you just have to let it go. I don’t have a lot of time to myself when I’m not in the car (hence scarcity of posts) so I am learning to take advantage of the time I do have to actually make some art! Even if you can’t draw realism, you can still just do it!
I had a lot of fun layering the petles and shading. It was relaxing to doodle and not have to worry about the imperfections. I think, personally, I get freaked out by all the tiny stuff, and stress myself out over silly things. If one made a living off of worrying, I would be a billionaire.
The book I used for this was given to me by a friend and it is a lot more sturdy than my sketch pads. All the pages fall out of the other ones, while this one is bound like an actual book, and it is pretty sturdy, so it doesn’t get beat up as easily when it gets left on the floor accidentally. It also makes a great art journal. I painted one page blue though and it bleed through the spine. Slowly I learn from my mistakes, slowly.
