DIY Paper Ice Cream Cone

Everyone loves ice cream, and although this one may not be as delicious, it certainly is adorable.

To make one you will need:

  • scissors
  • glue (not shown)
  • scrapbook paper
  • black paint (not shown)
  • a green coffee filter
  • stuffing

First, cut out the shape for the cone. I somehow ended up with a shape that looks like a square attached to a right triangle, but I think a regular square would work.

If you stick with my shape, glue along the slant and roll into a cone, making sure to trim off any excess.  It should look like this:

Now that we have the cone, let’s make the ice cream part.

Now, depending on the type of flavor you want to mimic, you can use whatever color you want for the top.  If you want to do what I did though, you will take a green coffee filter (I dye mine with food coloring) and some black or dark brown paint, and add dots all over the coffee filter.  If the spots smudge some, that’s fine. Real mint chocolate chip does that too

Then you use your stuffing and squeeze it into a ball shape, like this:

I enjoyed making these. They are very easy to make, and are super customize-able to suit your taste (see what I did there?).
